Goals
*We reviewed the lesson that Camie taught last week on goals. I told a story about Ben who wanted to be a baseball player when he grew up. He set a goal to practice often and to eat healthy, get enough rest, and take care of his body so he would be healthy enough to play. He met his goal and played baseball on his high school team.We read the "Little Engine That Could" and talked about how we can accomplish our goals by being positive and telling ourselves that we can do it.
After our review of goals we had a...
DR. SEUSS Marathon
One particular book all the kids liked was "Green Eggs and Ham"
Here is the craft we made
We watched this "Green Eggs and Ham" video
Snack Time--We had a picnic and the kids loved it. (Little did they know, my table isn't big enough for all of them :)
On Thursday we learned about
Mess vs. Order
We learned the difference between the words Messy and Order
*After "free-play" I set a timer for 3 minutes. The goal was to pick up all the toys before the timer went off. The kids LOVED this! It worked so well. I'm planning on using this at home more often.
*We also learned about a bag called "Gunny Bag"--Gunny likes to eat toys that aren't picked up. She will give them back once, but if they are left out again she will keep them. Miss Gunny was just a pillowcase with a face drawn on it. the opening of the pillowcase was the mouth.
Then we learned about
Hibernation
We read this book and the tent was our cave.
I love this picture, because you can see Gavyn acting like a bear!
To go with the tent theme, we had marshmallows and graham crackers for a snack.
We watched a small clip from the "Planet Earth" video that showed a polar bear that just woke up from hibernating.
Then we made these little bear pictures
what a fun week at joy school! the little sleeping bears were super cute! And you read some of our favorite books!
ReplyDeleteWe have also started to notice Dr. Suess every where! Our new favorite is One Fish, Two Fish.
Thanks for a great week!
